I used to put track down right on the foam and cut the roadbed into the foam, but now I use cork just so I can sand down the humps.

Yeah, the difference in thickness is surprising.

Luckily, I'm supporting each section independently, so I can adjust as neccessary.

Chris, which ones did you toss? Your ability to just move on is partially my inspiration.

They were both based on Dave V's door. Either reversed or just changed around a bit. Mostly pink foam, cork and track. I built the last one all within this year, but I'm moving now... fun.
