The Empire Builder I run on ModuTrak is:

-P42
-B32
-2 Baggage
-Coach Baggage
-Coach
-Coach
-Diner
-Lounge
-Sleeper
-Sleeper
-Sleeper
-3 Road Railers

Not sure if it's completely prototypical, but it's close (shhhh, don't tell Skibbe).

The EB is a fairly standard consist over quit a span of years if you want to try and do it right.

(from wiki)

Baggage car (Seattle)
Transitional Crew Sleeper (Seattle)
Sleeper (Seattle)
Sleeper (Seattle)
Diner (Seattle)
Coach (Seattle)
Coach (Seattle)
Sightseer Lounge/Café (Portland)
Coach/Baggage (Portland)
Coach (Portland)
Sleeper (Portland)
Coach (Chicago - St Paul) - This car is train number 807/808.

I'm pretty sure they ran material cars (at the end of the train going WB), I don't think roadrailers were very common.

I wish Kato would do the transition coach or sleeper.  I'd prefer the coach for running with the F40's.

^ Thanks.  Thats a format easier to follow than some of the stuff I've found online.

Yeah, not sure about the roadrailers either, but I know I saw them a few times.  I originally bought them for my layout based off the BNSF in IL, but moved and had to tear it down, so they're riding the rails on MiNi for now.

I too am anxiously awaiting a transistion car.  Seems like a no brainer.  I know someone did a really good kitbash of a Concor car a ways back on Trainboard, but the pics are long gone.

As for the Superliners and the baggage cars, has anyone tried getting them coupled closer together?  Wondering how to attack that next.
