finally making use of that PDF Lee I printed on standard laser paper, taped it from the back with metal tape. Then, just colored them with a yellow highligher.

Don't know if Dullcote helps, but the stuff seems to fade on its own without exposure to light. I pulled some things out of a drawer the other day that were highlighted and the highlighting was almost completely gone. It was less than a year.Also, I think the signs should be a much warmer yellow. Why not just print them on colored paper, like goldenrod?
