Ed,

I've got you covered on a few points.  The base paint is Killz oil based primer, and I applied it after I pre-shaped the track on the layout.

The track is ME HO code 70, the second best track available (the first being ME HO code 55 ;) )

Agree that the ties are too uniform, but in photos of the area I'm modeling (notice how I'm keeping that a secret), most of the ties are covered up with dirt or ballast, so the extra work would be lost!

Hmmm....love these mysteries. It kinda reminds me of the branchline track around Bensenville.  ::)
Will you need some cool red and white chevron switch targets?

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Close!

If you have MRHA's Chicago Book (authored by Tom Burke), you'll see my name mentioned in one chapter.  That is the line I'm doing. ;D

I was flipping through that last night as a matter of fact. Didn't see your name, but I just usually look at the pretty pictures.
As a native Cheesehead, I don't have much good to say about Chicago, but I'm sure you will do a nice job with it!

Best wishes, Dave

Remember the George Selios technique: weather and paint some
of those ties different colors.
