I'm looking for a prototype photo of a UP PC&F 6033cuft boxcar - the one that ExactRail is selling:

http://www.exactrail.com/index.php/ho-pcf-6033-hy-cube.html

I hope it has similar weathering patterns to this:

rr-fallenflags has a couple.

Takes a while for the page to get down to them but there is a three shot series that has some great detail for weathering.

Bt this one is a bit close to what you have I think.

So far all I see is the small lettering on the roadname and number.  I don;t know what that means though.

Ok - judging by your weathering job, I'm going to take a wild guess that you've already seen this picture:

[You did nail it though! ;)]  Here's another that's out to pasture, closer to the exatrail prototype:

Thank you.  I had attempted to get to that site many times with no luck.

Yep, that's the one.  It was one of the more fun projects I've worked on.  Wow, July '05 - has it really been that long?  I remember printing up the artwork I used and giving it away to folks.  If you're interested, here it is:

I myself plan to buy some of those 6033's but I have not yet found a modern UP example.  I found some nice patched SP & Alaska ones...

Can you say a bit more about how you produced the artwork?

It is a combination of scanning the N scale car in and tracing, using the prototype photo as a guide, and free handing some of it.

I also have a z scale car somewhere...

I'll dig one up.  It was one of my first attempts at salt weathering in Z :-X :-\

Oh my... I do not see that ending well. In Z the flakes will look like valleys.  :-\
