Oh boy can I rant on this one..
Whats really the shame is that the NJ DEP, division of Parks and Forestry owns and operates the place, yet they are so anti-railroad anything its sickening.
We have a lot of historic equipment in various stages of preservation in NJ from a few different groups. After the whole railroad museum boondoggle in NJ fell apart, first at Port Morris, then at Phillipsburg, there was heavy interest in Liberty State Park specifically because of the terminal and its historic bush style train sheds.
But NOOOOOOO... NJDEP didn't want to hear anything of the matter.
We could have a great railroad history museum on par with the likes of Steam Town, which can draw much more visitors annually because of NYC access, but forget it.
The fat cats at NJDEP, who were appointed their jobs by various pay-to-play governors like making 6 figures and sitting on their arse, doing nothing.
Sorry for the frustration, but it aggravates me that we can have something first class in NJ, that can give Steamtown a run for their monies, and it won't happen because of LAZY, INCONSIDERATE, USELESS BUREAUCRATS WHO LIKE TO MAINTAIN THE STATUS QUO...
I need to go take some blood pressure meds now,
J....
