Long Island passengers came today

I received my first shipment from Joe at Island Modelworks . I will round out my fleet as the become available . This is a dream come true for me . Woohoo . The castings are very nice and sighting down the side they look straight and true . As with most things cast , they need some flash cleanup , but very little and easily done . There are very few bubbles to fill , and the material they are made from is very sturdy . Very nice indeed . There is one MP75 and 5 MP72's . I think I may owe Joe $ as I ordered 4 MP72's , but I am glad to even up the score . Seeing that MP75 first hand will make me get more of those at least .

The MP72's should have 24 inch port holes , and they are a scale 24 inches . Some cars have a very very slight bow up in the middle , nothing that you really see , and nothing that the floor can't correct if designed to correct it .

Did you happen to get an SW1001?

I'm REALLY tempted to get myself one. It's a shame Robbman ran away, I'd be curious to hear what major differences there are between the LIRR and the CR ones.

Sure did , but after I had ordered this first batch of cars . My SW1001 is slated to be mailed Monday . Once I get it I will try to shoehorn the NW-2 chassis in it . I will post some shots here of the shell , and hopefully the chassis fit .

I'm really curious about the quality of the hood and cab details, basically, I want to make sure it won't look goofy with an Atlas MP15 around.

And if it doesn't, then, well, it's time for me to order up!

Ed , a new , better quality shell is to come out in a few weeks . I receive my now old version today and tried the LL and Kato drives as was also tried by somebody on the A-board and agree its a no go . The width of the inside wall cavity would preclude using a LL SW or Kato NW chassis without getting rid of the chassis frame halves , then redesigning the the truck pivot method . There is some talk about the CC SW as being a possibility . I think I will get some trucks and a fuel tank and make it a dummy .

Edit , I just tried the CC chassis , and with just grinding down the bulge area in the mid section of the chassis , it will fit snugly . It is doable , and I just might try it .

Anyone know where to get the CC/Kato chassis cheap? They are selling for $50+ on e-bay and thats just too much for a junker.
