I was proud of how the fade turned out, since they started out bright red and blue:

All look great, but I especially like the way 6412 is faded.

well, the Geep with number 6412 has a lot of miles on the counter. produced in China, sent to USA, bought in USA and sent to Switzerland, moved from Switzerland to NZ, sold from NZ to Germany, sent from Germany back to the USA to Tom and now back to Germany ! a lot of miles ey...

looking good but you should paint the cab interior as well. and where are all the little warning and info stickers ?

What color is the inside of a cab usually?  White?

I didn't follow any one prototype specifically, just a bunch of them at rrpicturearchives.

Depends on the railroad. The B&M had their cabs a "psych ward" green. The former UP unit on NEGS has a beige cab.

But, if you take a look at photos, the cab interiors are always darker, and blacking them out just makes them look better.

Maybe adding a silloutte of a control stand would be good, but it's tough to get that right for all angles.

I like them. Though the 6412 looks like it could use a lot more exhaust residue around the stack...and the tops of the radiator grilles don't look weathered at all. It's a little distracting, does the prototype look like that?
