They Got Me!

I got my Model Railroader e-mail newsletter, and it had a hook in it I couldn't resist...
A searchable database of track plans that have been published in MR and GMR.  As a track planning fanatic, I think this will be a great resource.
So I pulled out the card and subscribed again after a two year lapse.

What'll be fun to look up will be how many stupid HO 4x8's they've floated as compared to really good layout plans done by contributors....

The guys at MR aren't all bad, they're just misguided sometimes. Andy Sperandeo and Jim Heideger are among the ones I most respect, and Cody Grivno and David Popp aren't bad guys either.

And then there's TK... (Tony Koester) :D

I've thought about changing to RMC or NSR or N-Scale instead though.

I think MRP and GMR are among MR's saving graces. I still think that older issues are better; my favorite is the September 2001 MR, with the Feather River Canyon layout. ;)

Don't worry - don't show ANY EMOTION - that's how they can tell subscribers from non-subscribers....

You'll be surprised, Lee. The track plan database is really pretty decent, and has four full pages of N scale layouts. MR has gotten a lot better in the last year or so. Probably because they have an N-scaler there now (David Popp) to talk some sense into them.  ;D

Actually, the last few months I've found MR to be a lot more enjoyable than RMC, which has been (in my opinion) really slipping.
