Hi Tom, if possible could you please post a pic or two of the lowered car w/ the Z-scale couplers?

Thanks,
Ed

Ed, I'm working on it.  As of last night, most of it is weathered.

Ok, as requested.

First up is the lowered/weathered/nwsl 36" wheel version on the left, out-of-the-box on the right.  Note the assembly issue with the end piece being pushed out.  On the right car, it's not too bad.  You can see the washer that IM has been using to raise the body to clear the coupler box.

Note that the lowered/zscale mates up almost perfectly with the stock truck mount.

I file the bolster so it's flat.  There are guide holes for the screw for the z scale coupler.

Weathering is just subtle.

Wow, the weathering on the trucks* & the 36" wheels make a HUGE difference :o Almost looks like HO - nice work :D

* are they Atlas 100-ton trucks? They look bigger than the MT's on the right but I can't tell if that's the weathering & wheels...

Hey Chuck, any news on the Fox Valley Models wheels yet ???

No, they are not atlas 100ton trucks.  They should be, at least to get the correct size, but I like the detail of the MT trucks better.
