Well it's Thursday again, and we're in Bellevue, Ohio, on August 29, 1957, photographing Nickel Plate Road steam power:

Full explanations of the photos are in my RailImages file at: http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showgallery.php/cat/500/ppuser/3148

Some narrow gauge bits and pieces from around the world......

An 0-8-2 on the 760mm system in the former Yugoslavia photographed in 1976

In 1978, one of the 300 or so narrow gauge locomotives that were used on the sugar cane railways of Indonesia. Around 50 are still at work during the annual cane season.

At the time (1979) this metre gauge, 1873 built 0-4-0 was believed to be the oldest locomotive in the world in regular use - at the Saraya Sugar factory in India.

Quick stop at the Rt. 128 Amtrak stop in MA on my way back from Ikea.   I'd never railfanned a high speed line before and wanted to try it out. Unfortunately Emma was a little cranky and I did not get to catch any express trains through the station at speed.

I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Yes... I'm in N... Also HO and 1:1

Gregg,

In that first photo, the turnout has no guard rails at the frog. Up until this point I had thought "no guardrails" was a modern thing.

Wes,

I love those funky steam loco's 8)

Some interesting shots there all. Makes me want to hop on a plane :)

Chris333, I'll obviously have to dig out some more funky little critters for next week.

Greetings from New Stanton, PA!!  This little fella is outside my hotel room.  Looks like a job for Randy to come up with a power chassis...

We're here for a wedding tomorrow afternoon, then we start picking our way east on Sunday.  We'll be stopping in Johnstown on Sunday, and should be trackside at the Curve on Monday.  Depending on how the schedule and cash goes, we might get a few other locales in.

I'll have some pics up for next Thursday.
