That's good Jeff, I'm glad it worked. For the windows, number boards and head lights I would remove the shell and pop all them out. This makes it even easier on you for painting and if you use any dull cote. Then when you're done with the shell just pop them all back in and that's it!

Yeah, if you slide your hobby knife down in there you should be able to pop the glass away from the sides. If you do happen to crack the glass you can allways use some of that clear plastic film to make new ones. That sometimes works better anyway as it's thinner and looks a little more like glass.

           try microscale's "micro-mask" on the numberboards and such. brush it on per directions, and let it dry. paint your geep, and use tape to remove the masking solution. i use it for "glued-in" situations such as yours. works good too!

           micro-mark also has their brand called "mask it easy". it can be sprayed or brushed on, and it takes about 2 hours to dry. it comes in an 8oz. bottle and cleans up with water.micorscale's seems to dry faster though. good luck, fellow metalhead.

Jeff! I know your plates basically full right now (as is mine) but I was doing a bit of
searching for some more Chessie SD35 pics for ideas on re-doing my old Atlas warhorse
(sheez-just realized she's 28 yrs old!) I stumbled across this pic-immedately put me in mind
of the D&H-LV GP38-2 above! (you may or may not have seen this before)

I thought it was kinda neat-wanted to point it out to you since you're a CHESSIE fella like me-
& post it to give you, me, or anyone else some inspiration! 

P.S. I found myself doing some more "cabeese" searching briefly before I left yesterday evening, no luck. 1 or 2 more places I wanna check out tomorrow just be sure! (LOL-I thought that safety cab pic I posted was blue, you said correctly it was green, & Dawn thought it was black!)

               repaint!
