Yeah, while generally their American proto c55  track looked good I wish it had a metal frog.

They are supposed to be done to Unifrog standard. The samples are supposedly 3D printed.

Question - have the Aurora 60' cars sold out of retailers or not arrived yet? I do see them for sale direct.

Sorry, been recuperating from a herniated disc injury and have not been following things...

Here is a nice little Toronto-based hobby shop that I frequently purchase from, which still has quite a few Aurora boxcars in stock (and at a pretty good price):

Yeah, I don't think those are market-ready samples... They're just testing the waters.

I will say the Unifrog thing is freakin' awesome.

In a few years if this line comes to fruition, this would make me seriously consider a permanent N scale home layout again. Patricia would like to downsize considerably if and when we leave Colorado someday, and I suspect I'll have much less room than I do now.

I've bought from him as well. I think he had some ESU decoders that no one else had at the time.

Probably the same samples from summer 2023 NMRA show: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=56448.0

Sorry guys. I didn't go this year. I totally forgot it was last weekend until Sunday and by then it was too late.

FWIW, I don't think I would be able to post many photos. I recently bought a new phone and the 16 Pro has a lot worse macro results than my XS. Normally I would assume it would be due to larger optics reducing depth of field. Nope. It can't focus as close and contrast is much worse than the previous phone. Drives me mad.

The best phone for models was a Nokia Lumia 920. It was the first phone to use optical image stabilization and had an app that stacked photos like Helicon. Everything after head steadily gotten worse. I may need to go back to my Canon I haven't used in almost a decade. Bummer.

Honestly, I haven't been doing much with trains since I started my new job a few years ago. Sorry for the off topic post.

Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Additions from my visit

Piko: on top of everything Pete said, the Piko rep also mentioned that they are discussing close to 180 (!) improvements to the 2nd run of the Whitcomb switcher. They are aware of the feedback on traction tires, and one discussion is to provide non traction tires wheels on the locomotive with a traction tire wheelset out the box. Their biggest concern is that the locomotive pulls very little without the TTs.

Intermountain: Their SD35s in bi centennial scheme is making progress. This was offered for preorder several years back.
Same story on cab forward as I heard last year, they are still evaluating choices for the factory to produce
