Kato big boy rear driver derail in reverse

Hi
My new Kato big boy never derails forward but derails the rear driver and fire box truck when I reverse into a curve. Has anyone experienced this issue? Wheels and track are in guage. The curves are greater than 11” radius.

I don't have a big boy, but having troubleshot a similar issue with my FEF-3 after replacing the decoder and re-wiring, the first things I would check are that the trailing truck and the draw bar connecting the loco and tender move freely, and that the decoder/light wires aren't interfering with that motion... Good luck!

Hi,
Got it the issue figured out and fixed! The rear driver o the rear engine has springy wires that push down on the driver bearings. Well my model’s wipers were to springy so I used a toothpick dap of silicone adhesive to the springs and fixed them from moving so much. The engine now runs the entire layout even the branch lines in reverse and never details. This will be a very useful engine now!
