Peteski - there’s something about those tiny European two-axle models that is hugely appealing to me.  I can’t quite put my finger on it, but seeing those (and Jim’s 25-tonner) is rejuvenating a fascination and interest that I’ve always had in the “smallest of the small” in N scale.

Seeing these posts might well have compelled me to divert my focus towards this aspect of the hobby for a while!

Yes, they are so darn cute!!  I was also attracted to them - that is why I I was compelled to finding them.  I also have couple more (tiny bit larger though).

So Ill submit this in evidence.....

Thank you for that.  This is the first that I have seen of that.  It appears to be narrow gauge.  I wonder what the specifications on it might be. I  am guessing one-hundred-seventy-five to two hundred horses on the diesel engine.  The transmission is anyone's guess as well as the tractive effort.  I am guessing a top speed of twenty-five to thirty-five MPH.  As it is in Honduras, that would be fortyto fifty-six KpH..  If it is a chain drive perhaps a top speed of fifteen to twenty MPH/twenty-four to thirty-two KpH.

The B-mann could be based on this but still would be out-of-scale for N.

So far, st least, no one has  mentioned  that he considers my theoretical specifications for a "fictitious prototype" unrealistic.

I modified the 25 ton Shapeways shell into a Plymouth and used the same chassis as Randgust.  It runs, and it is fun, but the performance could be better.  I really like what Jim has done so perhaps one day.

There are a number of small Japanese sources for tiny chassis.

A little more snooping did reveal some WDTs rated at forty-five tone plus numerous rated at forty.

I do wonder if you could fit two six cylinder diesels;  into the MDT B-unit or even one eight cylinder.  One twelve cylinder might be pushing it.

Any of the three would allow a higher HP/TE rating.
