@VonRyan, your street trackage looks AMAZING!  How did you get that effect?

That is the handiwork of the man, the myth, the wizard, @DKS
It’s sanded black styrene with various finishing touches.

@VonRyan, that’s my goal. To make my street trackage as good as his. Wow!

So Ed, you've heard me say this before, and you will continue to hear it from me so long as you use grout as ballast...

All that wonderful painting you did to get those rails and ties just perfect is now erased. The grout leaves a gray film over everything and undoes all your hard track painting work.

I continue to believe that grout may be useful for a host of scenic applications (as I use it for dirt roads) but is unsuitable for ballast.

That track looks very much like some of the local coal-hauler's yard tracks.

Yep. Sadly, that's not what I'm going for. But it's ok because the dust clears nicely when I hit it with wet water.

There are plenty of other issues to clean up with that track before it's "done", but not that.

Those are H0 scale.  Compared to N scale, there is a huge variety of vehicles available in H0.

ho , I didn't saw the scale in the signature  :| , the only Z28 I found where 3D print (I got a few ) but they are rough ..

Yes there is so much more cars and trucks in other bigger scales
Thanks ,
Louis

Most of what I did was paint various 115 ton flatcar loads, assemble them, find weaknesses in the design, re-design, re-print, re-paint...

I decided to give HO scale a try with a small layout, and as part of that I’m doing some of the National Model Railroad build off challenges from Walthers, the first of which is the weathering challenge. I took a couple days off from work to get a mental break, and in between disc golf, NASCAR, and yard work, I was able to get the roof and one side to where I wanted it. I gave a new-to-me technique a try, pan pastel suspended in clear oil paint varnish. MY GOD does that work well as a base coat on the roof! A layer of that, some Bragdon powders, and then a bit of oil paint around the edges and it looks really well. I need to get some more orangish oil paint for fresh rust but overall man did it work well. The pan pastel technique also works extremely well for door scratches etc on the sides of the car. I used oil paints along the exterior posts and then a layer of blue Bragdon powders and an India Ink wash to get a subtle fade. Overall I’m happy with it, now on to the other side and then the ends and bottom.

Prototype images I worked from:
