Kato Passenger Car "High Pro" wheelsets

My layout has some relatively sharp turns and I've discovered that Kato's lo pro passenger wheelsets sometimes derail.  Through trial and error (including adding weights to the cars) my best solution is change the wheelsets to the old "high pro" wheelsets--which are not available from Kato.  I'm assuming that many members of the Railwire have many "high pro" wheelsets that you've replaced with lo pro wheelsets.  If you are willing to part with them I'll gladly pay postage and a reasonable price for these "high pro" wheelsets.  (I'm not looking for hundreds, but a dozen or so would be sufficient).

Any takers?

The "low profile" wheelsets available from Kato are actually the ones you're looking for.  The real "low profile" wheels you can only get on some of the trucks that you can order from them (20th century limited, El Capitan, a few others....).

Letting you know from experience - I ordered a bunch of the "low profile" wheelsets and they bump on the Atlas code 55 track......had to order some full truck sets in order to get what I was looking for.

Order a set of wheels and see if they work for you (which I think they will).

Good luck.

I built my layout long before code 55 track existed.  My track is code 80, so "high pro" wheelsets is not a track problem.

Thank you for that information about Kato's #932040.  I'll place the order.

As other mentioned Kato sells only a single type of passenger car wheelsets. It is the 232040 set.

Dimensions:
Tread diameter: 0.216" (5.49mm)  (or 34.5" in 1:1 scale - not quite 36")
Overall diameter: 0.274" (6.94mm)
Flange depth: 0.029" (0.74mm)
Wheel thickness: 0.073" (1.85mm)
Axle length: 0.563" (14.30mm)
Wheels are in gauge according to the NMRA gauge.

These are not the newer narrow tread/low flange passenger car wheels they use on some newer car sets.  It would be nice if Kato did offer those newer wheelsets for sale because they look really good.
