Scale trains N scale C39-8 2nd run

Ordered this after returning my sd40-3. ST was kind enough to send a return label and I did not want them to lose a sale so ordered this instead.  This one is an absolute beauty. Exquisitely fine details. Runs great, jitters ease out after speed step 1. The sound is really well done.

I have one from the 1st run and this one runs slower for the same step.

Overall, a hugely impressive locomotive. Kudos to ST.

I have the CSX one, too, and others from the first run. They are really nice but the new-run CSX is, as you said, really a gem.

One thing that almost put me off buying the CSX unit was the handrail color in photos. Yours show the same thing -- lighter than the body color.

However, in real life they match to my eye. Cameras are unforgiving in N scale and I think their may be some weird translucency that occurs in many photos that isn't there in real life. Unlike some of thos Kato mismatches (horns, I remember) a few years ago.
