The double plug door car was not tooled by Sekisui Kinzoku.   Rather it was locally tooled and molded in the Chicago area by Con-Cor. 
Many of the later freight cars were completely new or new side inserts made to work with the SK ends, roof and interior inserts.  Except for the over sized triple hopper cars most of them were decent and expanded the range of N rolling stock before others got into the game.
Con-Cor moved from rubber stamping to state of the art Tampo Pad Printing.  Hard to honestly judge 1970-90s product by today's standards that built on that base!

I agree.  In the 70s ConCor had some of the best freight cars available.

The first of the 450T flats is closing in on complete. I just need a few more decals and weathering.

Not a pretty photo, but the first work I have done in 6 weeks. I am starting to layer in the river banks along the Housatonic River. I still need 3 to 4 more shades to blend it in. Then debris, dead fall, rip rap, sand, stone, etc., ending with the water pour. After that will be scenery along the banks and the marina at the Bleachery.

Very nice Eric !!! I used "Realistic Water" from Woodland Scenic , even it's a thicker it found a way/hole to reach the floor , so be sure it's level at 100% and check for any hole on the rear , it's a big pour like the one I did in my port and it leaked for nearly 24 hours at one place ....

I use a 2 part epoxy on my water pours.  I have not had a leak yet and will try to avoid one here as well.

Also put plenty of newspapers, or a good drop cloth, under the layout.  Not just under where your pouring, but for several feet around it, in case the liquid finds a horizontal path.
