Temporary sound failure on Paragon 2 & 4 equiped locos

Hi.
I just purchased a new Paragon 4 heavy pacific which runs and sound great. However, I've noticed that when I adjust the volume up with my Digitrax throttle, the sound briefly disappears.
Is that normal? It also does the same on a Paragon 2 equipped loco. It doesn't do it with other locos.

If you are using function 8 to adjust the volume that is the normal effect. F8 toggles the sound off/on, the decoder senses the cycle to reduce the volume.
It is normal.

No, I am not adjusting the volume. I'm adjusting the speed with the knob on the throttle.

Rick, so you're not adjusting the volume (per your OP). You're adjusting speed, right?
The P4 decoders have a built in dynamic (chuff volume) adjustment. If you have momentum and turn the speed up you should get a loud chuff response and when you turn down the throttle even a little, the chuff mostly disappears, as if you closed the throttle, as it should. Are you sure the sound goes away when you turn UP the throttle? Perhaps there's a programming problem?
I have one of the BLI P4 Pacifics (and other that the ugly solid drivers) it behaves and sounds the way it should...

Thanks Otto. I'll check the next time I run at the club. Maybe it only dissapears when I turn the speed down.
