Hey nodleW, your backwards again.  (But you still get my up-vote.) :D

. . .

My friend John Bailey visited, and brought his collection, which blended nicely with my retro equipment.  It was a blast to goof around with someone I've known and considered my best friend since 1st grade in 1970.

Lee-
You are indeed fortunate!  Of all the kids I knew in grade and high school (many of whom had layouts or at least trains) I have not found one who is an adult model railroader.
I would love to be able to contact anyone who I went to school with who is in the Hobby!

When I put my phone in selfie mode for some reason it goes all mirror reverse on me.  I assume there's some mysterious setting that I've overlooked.  I'll have to find a 6 year old to fix it for me.

Ive started back building the Canyon Diablo Bridge. The build thread has been repaired and live for (re)viewing.

Bob,
If you need someone to build a display module for that bridge, please let me know, I’d love to do it!

Would you settle for a 76-year-old?

Go into the settings on your camera app and unset the slider that asks "Pictures as previewed (Selfie)"  which says "Save selfies as they appear in preview without flipping them."  Somehow, you seem to have set that to "on".  "Off makes the photo come out not reversed.

Bob,
If you need someone to build a display module for that bridge, please let me know, I’d love to do it!

The canyon will be 16.75in deep and 41in wide. I have a bid on a Kato 8 car Super Chief to go with BLI F3 ABBA set. So the display will be 6ft long. When I go to build Topock, I expect that display module will be the same length, but much shallower.

After five years of layout construction, I finally painted the track and began ballasting this side of the layout.  Part of the procrastination was all of those turnouts!  :scared:

That sounds like a perfect challenge. I’ve driven out the the Canyon a couple of times. When I modeled Afton Canyon, that module was 6’3” long and 18” wide.
