New tie loads for my BLMA gondolas, built from a single tie I downloaded from Thingiverse. The goal is to replicate the Micro-Trains Conrail work train set, but with a tie loader with an open see-through cab and windows, and with BLMA gondolas.

Hi Bryan:

Was interested to see your tie train project as a friend and I are planning a BCR version based on a photograph.  I obtained some resin tie loads from Fine N Scale and will use Rapido gondolas with replacement ends to represent the PGE 9400 series cars.  I have a GHQ loader which requires a grapple at one end and am hoping to retrofit one from a REM kit.

Tim,
It's pleasantly convenient that you have the Prairie Shadows (Rapido-tooled) gondolas available that are prototypical for PGE.  I looked at it similarly with the BLMA gondolas being prototypical for Conrail, although I can't use stock models and will have to repaint/decal.  I still have to research the motive power and cabooses utilized, but there are plenty of N scale candidates that represent prototypes Conrail owned so I'm not too concerned.
