I didn't have much time to work on the Airlawn Industrial Lead over the holidays, but that changed in 2022 since I agreed to bring the layout to the 2022 NMRA Lone Star Region convention in Temple in April.

I needed to redo all the track on the Denton Drive end of the layout and build an extension for ITT Continental Baking as well. I got the extension finished out if scrap lumber I had lying around 2 days before I had to head to the LSR meet.

I had 6 sets of operators sign up in 2 person crews. Everyone seemed to have fun with the Proto Throttle and my switchlists seemed to work out. I had to replace the Peco turnout that connected the Airlawn Lead to the Denton Branch main when it decided to stop conducting electricity across the frog, resulting in sound drop outs on the power.

Here are a few shots of the layout (with hasty mockups of building foundations snd streets) at the LSR:

All in all, it was a new experience, I think it went well, and I'm glad I did it.

Awesome update!  Are you going to be at the RPM again in a few weeks?

EDIT: So as not to further hijack your thread any more than possible, I'm editing here to share that I started a topic about the RPM coming up in the D/FW area:

Sadly, the Airlawn Lead wont be at the Red River RPM this year and I probably will not be able to attend either. I really enjoyed last year but I have too many other conflicting family commitments that weekend.

Hopefully quite a few, I think they are having more vendors and the ATSF Historical Society this year. I'm disappointed I probably won't even be able to make the trip this year.

I'll be there - there should be a good showing from the BNSF'ers!
