Saw this on YouTube, told Terri: "I bet it's grout".

Three seconds in and I had to do an impression of the MLG air horn.

Ed, what do you do if you use tile grout for ballast and then find that you need to take up the track for some reason?

I would think grout would be much better if you mixed 2 or 3 very similar colors so it wasn't all one tone. Maybe drybrush it later to add some high lights. I like finding spots with very fine dirt and collecting a bunch.

Blending works well. I've done that a bunch.
I think about the individual colors as pigments.
