How many cars make a decent Tropicana juice train of two eras?
 
1. The modern white reefers of today?

2. The era of the orange reefers?


I ask as just a few years back in Florida, I saw a northbound CSX train with only a few modern white reefers in it. The train was mid state and seemed to be more of a mixed freight. This tarnished my image of a dedicated juice train with long lines of reefers in it.

Educate me.

Yes, Precision Scheduled Railroading killed the Juice Train.    You'll see cars mixed into regular manifest trains heading north and south nowadays.  I've seen Tropicana reefers coupled to trash cars recently.  Ugh.

The cars travel in blocks on FEC from Ft Pierce also, to Jax and then they get handed to CSX were they travel north to Jersey or west to UP to go all the way west.
