A defective model or a rare collectible MTL misprint?
« on: April 29, 2023, 10:54:50 AM »

I got my MTL "mystery balloon" flatcar with load and when I examined all the parts (it comes assembled) I noticed that one of the beams is missing from the 3D printed tree.  Supports are there (front left) but the beam is missing. It is not detached and loose in the box. The packer/inspector mist have issued the fact that it was missing.

So what do we have here? I rare pricey collectible  MTL defect, or should I contact MTL and ask for a replacement part?   :D

Looks like you opened the case already and let the collectable air out, so the car is now worthless. 😆

I'd ask for a replacement part. I seriously doubt that they're going to require you to send them the defective part.
Now Micro Trains needs to release another flat with the missile that shot the balloon down!

Yeah, there should be another beam there, per double checking mine.

Though unfortunate it was damaged it did nudge me to build mine since I had it out of the box anyway.

No worries, as I do have an aerosol can of "MTL factory air" I purchased not to long ago.  Still almost full - enough for several jewel boxes.  :D

Yes, I'm planning on contacting MTL for a properly printed parts tree.  I never had any problems dealing with them when it comes to customer service.

Joe came through - he sent me couple of complete 3D printed frets, packaged in a MTL jewel box.  :)  Nice!  Thanks Joe!
Not that it was unexpected. I never have anything else but a top quality customer support from MTL.
