Can I fire back with I don't get why people get the small steamers, I buy the big ones myself?

Look at how many giant 'trucks' (pickups) are on the road in the US vs Smart cars or other small cars, people like big things...

nah ... not all like big ...
i farm, and tractors and combines and the like are 1/2 million dollars each ..
that's right, a half million .. EACH

Just to be clear. I own a 50s HO N&W Riv y6b but never will it run....I got it free believe it or not ! It's my Fav mallet but I'm code 83 or lower and she has deep pizza cutter flanges I'm not going to try to turn down, nor will I attempt a motor/drive train change and gut out that old archaic DC motor that takes up the whole cab (I'm NCE DCC)!! Though I will say this:
Someone could probably re-motor these guys and get a flywheel in there to boot !! Far as I know there are no steam with flywheels...This and low flanges would be narley, dude !!

The Bachmann 2-10-0 Russian Decapod has a flywheel drive according to their specs.

I am looking for a "modern" 4-4-0 or 4-4-2; I have a small HO layout with tight curves, but the
only 4-4-0's available are "old time" and nobody currently makes a 4-4-2 that I can find.

There are a few Bachmann "Modernized 4-4-0" s on ebay. I love mine. Their 4-6-0 is a little gem, too...superb detail and running...M

As for the large ones, I like them because they are large and impressive. Lots of moving parts and steam everywhere.  What's not to like?  I like small ones becuase they are cute.  ;)

Yes, N scale Dapol Terrier from the first run.  I installed a Digitrax DZ125 decoder in the cab.
And yes, there are some great British N scale modelers out there.
