I was in Knoxville for my daughter’s volleyball tournament a few weekends ago. We came in on Friday to beat a snowstorm in the mountains and had time to kill until her 2:30 start time. We ran over to Oak Ridge to just wander around and see what there was to see. K25 plant is gone now but they have a nice museum there. Y12 plant is still a national security site so be very careful where you poke around if you dont like long interrogations. The museum docent has some good stories. Poor Panera delivery driver. But also on the K25 site are some stored railroad cars and locos. With the entrance road to the museum running right by them I wandered over for a look. Couple of neat things depending on what you like but this rusted out car caught my eye. I model SOU so I looked at it closely and man, I swear I have that car. Take pix and move on. Get home and yep, I have that car. [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Talk about a nice find. There were two PAs there as well and that was a first for me to see in 1:1. Rusty but still here. On another spur there was a bunch of Amtrak baggage cars but they were far enough from the museum that I was not going to push my luck . Didn’t want to have to call the coach and try to explain being detained by the DOE.

Oh *****, I have that car too!
It was one of my earliest pieces that still gets run. Glad to see it's still around.
