Any experience with ESU factory repair exchange

Hi
I have to return for repair an ESU sound decoder that was in an N scale Atlas Dash 8-40c .
I was trying to do some wires placement to fit the cab over the decoder and many wires for a friend ....

I succeed but only for a while  after 2 minutes on the track , suddenly there was a new function in the decoder , the SMOKE function I didn't know it was included in the decoder .

On their site they say we can return the decoder and for a charge they will either repair it or exchange it  , I don't have the purchase receipt .

The charge varies from 20 euro to 80 euro ( about ) even on their US site it's marked in euro .
If they charge me too much I will just leave it there !

Are they good to deal with ?

Thanks

Thanks ,
Louis

Well I have had very good luck with them.
Make sure you give them a way to contact you via e-mail.

I have had good experiences with them also. Yes, that is plural. Always replaced what I sent to them at no charge, but that was pre-COVID. I have not had any recent experience.

I will add my 2 cents as well. I emailed them, told them what happened..totally my fault. They said send it in. Pretty quickly after them receiving it, they emailed me to say a new one was on the way. I was prepared for it to be an expensive lesson, but they helped me out.
