Yeah, "take my money, please!" And we hear explanations like "the factories are so busy, fully booked for a long time with no production slots open to squeeze another run. And of course now there are COVID excuses.  I guess the only positive here is that you can take and spend your money on other projects (such as renovating your home).  But wait, you have to get in line and wait for the contractors.  We sure live in weird times.

A blessing in disguise... now I won't feel guilty pre-ordering more 5161 hoppers from Scale Trains!

I always find it interesting how so many small companies continue to put out a steady stream, while other larger ones go in spurts.

I've been pleasantly surprised that a few of the 36' old time cars from the old Roundhouse line have made appearances in recent announcements.

I take this as a hopeful sign that maybe--just maybe--those 2-8-0s and 2-6-0s may see another run. I have more than I need already, but those little gems are like crack rocks.

Clearly it won't be this month though...

I have a single Overland car in Northern Pacific scheme.  Not sure how accurate but really cool looking!  I would like to pick up more.

This in a nut shell. The last brand new locomotive purchase from Athearn in N scale was the 2015 run of UP 4014, so that was arrival of July 2017. I ordered the SP containers in 2019. I can't honestly say I've bought any freight cars from them brand new. Most are just not of interest. I was tempted for the Oil Cans but after people having issues with them I decided against it.

Honestly I with they would bring their HO scale stuff to N scale, even if it wasn't in the same caliber of Genesis. GP40P-2, Surfliners, MP15AC, SDP45, DDA40X, GP50, SD40/45T-2, Trinity 3-Bay Hoppers, I'm sure there are other things I'm missing that I could include.
Attempting to model a modern Southern Pacific based in 2015/2016...

Also, I have a passenger train addiction...

But their last "Train Tuesday" FB live webcast was N-scale oriented, so that must make up for everything!

I believe I'm quoting accurately enough from near the beginning of that video...

"Today we're going to talk mostly about N scale (ahem, ahem), but don't worry..."
