Question on the TCS decoder for the IM F units

The chassis for the FP10 I'm working on is an older design with the leaf spring motor contacts. Would the TCS IMF4-NF decoder work? It is meant for use with the newer chassis with the wired motor. Is it just a matter of soldering the leaf springs from the factory board onto the TCS decoder?

It could, there are a few ways to make it work:
Do as you suggest, solder the existing board's tongs to the decoder
Solder wires between the decoder and the motor contacts
Or, if you have not purchased the decoder yet, get the TCS IMF4, which is the version of this decoder with the tongs already attached.

Either way, be careful when you solder the headlight. Make sure the leads do not accidentally touch the frame for obvious reasons...
