I hope that my wife never finds out that those little packages in my styrene rack cost like $3 each.

Absolutely the most important item in my inventory. I use it for EVERYTHING - rolling stock, structures, bridges - everything. Like others I have a complete supply of all the smaller strip sizes and a wide variety of sheets sizes on hand, and it’s the only supply I really try to make sure I have a complete inventory on hand at all times. Pretty much anything else is on a ‘as needed’ basis. I’ve used it too build the masters for all of my resin casting projects; with help from my ‘jeweller’s loupe’ it seems I can build pretty much anything I need.

But please help me: does the end of Testors paints mean that their liquid cement will disappear as well? I really hope not - I find that the combo of Testors cement and Evergreen styrene works very well for me

Yep, here's all mine.  Sheets on the left, strips in the middle.

II have entire bookcases filled with plastic boxes and storage trays, and numerous drawers, and I still can't find what I am looking for most of the time.  And I have a distinct problem with horizontal surfaces.  No matter how large a horizontal surface is, I can clutter it in a matter of minutes. Conversely, cleaning the same surface can take hours or days.

Here is my styrene entry.  Lime loadout located at Vulcan Quarry in Hanover, PA.  I still have the rock/stone loadout to build that is also at that location.  Neither structure is currently in use.  Lime is trucked out or transferred truck to rail using one of those mobile units, and the stone is loaded by Cat 992K FEL.  Stairway is from Shapeways.  Everything else is Evergreen or Plastruct items

Simple organizer whipped up in an evening from a piece of foam board

I had an old keyboard box that worked for storing all my strip and sheet supply, but could never find a specific size easily or tell if I was running out.

As far as sheets go, I just go top to bottom .005, .010, .015. .020 etc down through the various patterns, like car siding, V Groove, etc and whatever clear stock I have goes on the very bottom.
I have a separate drawer for brass and stainless stock.
I use Altoids tins for shorts and a small box for small fragments of sheet that I can still use and I’ve made a strip holder for longer pieces that are cut but not put back in the package.
I range them L to R as .010, .015, .020. .030 and larger.  Most anything larger than that, I put the remainder back in the package.

Actually IT IS Organized...  Sorry.  :o

Inside the bag is a Metal "Christmas" popcorn Tin.

For the life of me, I couldn't find a "Square" one, so I made a Round peg fit a Square hole...

The styrene packets are bunched together by size, .020, .040 etc. and stapled along one side.

When I runout, I keep them attached and just restock the packets...

Am I normal?

No. None of us are. That's why we're here.  :D

We daydream about things other people aren't even aware of.

Sometimes, reality needs a little reconstructin'.  :)
