Thinking about putting sound in my MT FT A&B units. Any ideas on what would be the easiest or best decoder to go with ?

I used ESU LokSound Micros in IM FTs I did.  I had to mill the frames down a bit to get them to fit.  The MT frames will likely need similar work.

ESU does have a LokSound Micro coming out, which is a bit smaller than the micro.  It might fit without milling.

If one wants decent quality sound (which required a good speaker/enclosure combo) then some frame milling/filling will likely be required.

I can mill. Not an issue. Thanks for the heads up.

Check out this from the dcc section of TRW.  It is not an MT but an IM install done by Rick which I would think would be a good guide due to frame similarities.  For decoders suggest check out the ESU loksound 5 nano or ESU Loksound 5 micro

The LokSound 5 nano isn't available yet.  Maybe in July, maybe not.  If you want to do the install now, use a LokSound 5 DCC micro.  It should fit - maybe without much milling over the motor area, but if not, maybe in front of the motor area, milling off the "fingers" for the old PC board and a little of the chassis for depth.

Mill the rear for an 8x12mm speaker; I'd use a Soberton in a custom enclosure, but you could also get an enclosure/speaker combo from Streamlined Backshops (SBS4dcc.com).
