When I saw the lead photo on this post I thought it was a fantasy paint scheme. I mean, did the person who came up with the delicate pastel and pure white know the design would be on a train locomotive? A DEISEL loco? With a stinky, smoking, dirty, oil-spraying, sooty, grimy, oily diesel engine inside? (an ALCO deisel, at that). And that train locos run OUTSIDE, through rain, dust, blistering sun, hail, splattered mud, and windblown dirt? Ye gads, this thing reminds me of the Lionel "train for Girls" with its pink loco, pale blue hopper, and chartreuse caboose!
Yes, I know it's an actual railroad scheme but come on! I can see why Ed wants to grime it up so bad you can't see the original paint. And not to hurt any L&HR fans, this is just an observation.
