A late running QRNational Melbourne to Brisbane 6MB7 intermodal service at Jindalee, New South Wales. Both locomotives are still in the livery of previous owner Genesee & Wyoming - 3 February 2007. These locos were withdrawn in 2013 with little chance of ever seeing them running again. Fast forward to 2020 and remarkably after seven years in storage, last week CLF4 was back in action under the auspices of niche leasing company RailPower. CLP9 was purchased by Southern Shorthaul Railroad in late 2019 and is currently under overhaul and should be back on the tracks in 2021.

ages ago i was in Alice Springs and got to see a set of CL's. E8 meets F45. the angular hood lines contrast the streamlined nose. what an oddly magnificent looking machine. i believe they were to have D D wheel arrangements but the design was changed at the last minute. very cool they are running again. too bad i was a decade late to see the cool stuff in AS before the conversion to standard gauge.
