Vallejo Paints

I'm sure that some of you have bought Vallejo paints.
Is there a good online source for them?  Are they only available online or are they available at Michael's Craft Stores or Hobby Lobby?
I'd assume Dick Blick, though I've never purchased anything from them.
Can they all be sprayed or only the Vallejo Air?

Burbank House of Hobbies is me go to source.

Game Air, Model Air, Mecha Color are ones that I have used and are airbrushable from the bottle.

Model Color needs thinned to airbrush.

So many questions...  :D

My primary source is the local Hobby Lobby, for Vallejo Model Color (not Air). They have a moderate palette, mostly enough to get done what I need to get done. When they don't have the color(s) I need (or are out, which is frequent), I have had success using eBay. The most recent eBay order was from an LHS, who was actually out of the specific color I needed, and - bless them - fulfilled through another LHS that happened to be the LHS closest to me, albeit 100 miles away.

I have not looked for Vallejo at Michaels. However, since when we're there we tend to roam the aisles, so if they did handle the line it would have grabbed my attention. It's worthwhile to note that Hobby Lobby displays the Vallejo in the same aisle as Testors, Tamiya, K&S Metals and other purely "hobby" supplies, and Michaels has no equivalent department.

Dick Blick carries the artist lines and not the hobby lines. Not that that's bad, just a different selection and different media. I buy Vallejo acrylic matte and gloss medium from Blick. Vallejo Artist Colors are intended for brushing and the palette follows conventional water color and oil paints you would normally find in artist tube media. They can probably be reduced and sprayed but I haven't tried it.

I have had success spraying Vallejo Model Color simply by reducing with water. Others will doubtless have better recommendations there. My use, frankly, is for scenery and buildings, not models, so it doesn't matter if I don't have the finest control over the characteristics. Even with the water reduction I have been consistently impressed by the pigment density.

I have not used Model Air as yet since I can't get it locally. Reducing Model Color works well enough to not make the effort in my case.

A couple of online sources I've used:

Mark Twain Hobby Center (above mentioned LHS): https://www.hobby1.com
Competition Minis: https://www.competitionminis.com  They're also (very!) good for scenery supplies.

I purchase at Scalehobbyist.com. Best pricing I have found for Vallejo Air. I also use the Vallejo Air to handbrush. I do use a primer when hand painting.

Micro Mark also carries quite a few Vallejo products.  And, it is worth looking at online model airplane stores for these, as they usually have a large selection of colors that might not be obvious for model railroading.  Sprue Brothers Models https://www.spruebrothers.com/ and Squadron https://www.squadron.com/ are two that also carry a lot of paints, washes, etc that might be of interest.

The gaming store I patronize carries plain ole Vallejo only now having recently stopped carrying the air brush line. Not many people air brush minis.  But luckily Hobbyland here in Columbus has started carrying them some of the Mecha Color and a few others, as well as their new rattle cans, thanks to the Gundum kit builders as well as the Game and Model color. I've not shopped at my local Dick Blick, Hobbylobby, or Michael's since we got put in time out last spring.

As far as airbrushing I've not tried to air brush Game or Model color since I had access to the game and model air varieties here up until a few months ago.
I have soooo many of the Model Color paints so I probably should try and airbrush some items with them. There was no need since I could easily get the Air varieties. I've been air brushing Scalecoat II a lot more lately when I do fire up the compressor. Which reminds me I need to stop painting minis and get painting locomotives someday. I have too many hobbies.

Since starting to use Vallejo I have used it for many spray jobs. It is a great product and has a huge range of colours.
I use Vallejo Flow Improver not water in my air brush to thin.
Try a Military Model Hobby Shop for stock as they use a lot more of the range than we in model trains will ever use.
Another product that is in the same league is AK Interactive, (similar size bottles)
Our local hobby shop just received a shipment of a huge range of colours.
A lot of new product that is Ink and does not dry whilst using as Acrylic can do.
I Highly recommend.
