New 3D Printed Items from IronPenguin

Hi All,

A  new 3D printed item to announce:

N Scale "Willie's Weenie Wagon" Food Truck with detailed interior, decals, LEDs for lighting.  $10.95

I've been working on this for over a month, trying to make it as easy as possible to paint the cooking area which required it to be a separate part to be inserted.
This meant there had to be a seam somewhere - top, bottom, back? I finally decided to make it slide in from the rear, with just the back side of the cabin needing to be glued back in place.

Stick-on decals provide menu boards to fit on three sides and front marquee. The primary Company name is "Willie's Weenie Wagon" (a homage to a local eatery) but includes 3 alternate names.

2 "PICO" White LEDs are included for lighting the interior.

The passenger area is hollow and a small piece of clear plastic for the windshield is included, too.

Nice idea and nice model.
But I'm not sure about the wheels printed with the body and without much of relief in the wheel well.  Would have been nice to have deeper gap, or maybe print the wheels separately.  One of those little things that to me make big visual difference.  Also I don't ever recall seeing a stepped hood on a vehicle like that.

Interesting, the stepping on the hood is only visible in the photo,  not on the model. Lighting trick, I think.

I'll probably work on the wheels in a revision.

Lovely little kit.  Agree on the wheels, but I'm very happy (as are the folks at Oakville who no longer have to walk to the DQ..)

After discussion with the better half after NSE was cancelled, we're gonna try and stick it out in this house for another two years.  Stairs are the problem, much more with her than myself - it's essentially three stories (but she almost never goes to the basement).  We have to climb stairs even from the garage - OK for youngsters, but I'm 79 and she's 75...

Now, if the NSE should decide to go to a destination other than Nashville for 22, I'd likely take it down soon after that decision and we'd find a smaller ranch type house. 

And I'm keeping my mind open to any new project for the layout that might come along, like Willie's or something more extensive - maybe the Chavez memorial or one of those large houses you can see on the hills. 

The photo essay in the June issue of N Scale Railroading shows the layout as it would have been seen by convention goers.
