Rules and such?

I apologize if this in the wrong spot or extremely redundant.

I notice that some members have cool pics of themselves (avatars & what-not)  I can't seem to do much concerning my profile except change my password and challenge question.  Is there a "magic" number of posts one must achieve to do this, or am I missing something in another area of the site?

When I first followed the link there was a big slow moving picture of a DIPSTICK!!  I was like, ok guys I can take a hint.  Hung my head in shame, crawled away to look a little harder.

That's fine Peteski, I found it humorous. 

I have also looked for info on "Respect"  the only thing I found was info on Karma and some posts that discussed adding back respect and or voting down a post for people being jerks.

Can you explain how respect works, or provide link to a cryptic picture of a block of wood?

Oh boy!  You had to ask. 

Respect, Karma, up-voting, down-voting (such Facebook-like concepts), are a touchy subject.  There is an active thread about down-vote's very recent reintroduction. However, it is a sore subject to many, and you might not want to burden yourself with the minutia of it all.  I would recommend just enjoying the forum for now.
