Kato Mikado Traction Tire

Greetings all,

I was wondering, what is the size of the Kato Mike Traction Tire? I was guessing around 9 mm (dia) x 1 mm width. I have a couple of brass steam locos with TTs that have cracked and could use a replacement.
Thanks in advance!

The actual Mikado TT is about 1.13mm wide (hard to measure in caliper, since compresses easily). Outside diameter, installed on driver, is 9.43mm

Mike,

I have a new package of 10 "N Traction Tire Spare" for 11-604 driver, KATO part # 810000 . The KATO parts page shows those are for both the original and revised drivers.

I will never use these so if you will PM me your mailing address, they are yours.

As always, have fun,
Carl

Gentleman,
Thanks for the replies, will look into these. I have a measurement (via digital caliper) off the driver that needs the TT. FWIW, it's for a 1992 Key SP MK-6 2-8-2. One TT is still in good shape. The other is cracked, dry rotted. May be affecting cohesion and pulling performance. Again, I thank you!  :)

Brass steam loco models usually include a non-traction-tire driver wheelset. That could be your other option.

Very true. I have a another Key MK and it has it's non TT driver on the loco, with the TT driver in the box.
