@thenarch.com will this be a good place to document it?

I'm moving next weekend and have a week of training after that so I'll have to focus on this build I like it!

Finished up my cars today

I might go back with a little bit of weathering and put the brakewells in place.

Gun load is painted just needs to be assembled and a placed on the cars.  I wont be gluing to the decks so I can switch out loads and break up the cars if I feel like it.

Just became a member. Here is my most recent update. Gun load just about completed. Flat cars heading back to the paint booth tomorrow.

Ride height comparison to a MT flat car. Perfect for me and its even a hair lower than the MT car. I think the lack of a big bolster adds to the "air" under the car that makes it seem to be riding so high

Overall Its a very well put together and easy to build kit. The longest part was just doing all the decals and cutting them out as small as possible. I did have some issues with the grab irons but other than that I didn`t need to sand or file anything. I also really liked how everything you need was in the kit besides paint/glue.
The cars are well weighted and I`ve had no issues with them tracking though turnouts and around curves.


I still have to install brakewells and place the load on for some finishing pictures.

These really look great.  I do have to ask about the ride height however.  Is it not possible to lower the car by shaving the bolster down?  I know coupler height and wheel clearance could become issues, but I wish they could be lower.  The comparison with the MTL flat only shows the same issue on that car.  The small size of the F22 may make this issue more noticeable.  But excellent work Cody.

I think there is room to shave the bolster and lower the ride height, and the same could be done for the couple box to raise the coupler to a proper height. Which would improve the appearance.

But one of the rules was to build the kit as it is delivered.

It is easy to build and goes together well I only had an issue with the stirrups as they cause some issues with the trucks having room to swing. The cars are weighted well and track great.

@dougnelson I was going to make a joke about being from Johnstown, "The Flood City", and pants that were worn during those three floods and how they relate to the ride height here of these cars, but instead, I'll simply be constructive (yet, passive aggressive and bitter) and direct you to my thread on lowering them,
