I got a snarky response on the N scale Yahoo group so I thought that I would give the background for this question. What if you downsized to one of those 500 square foot micro homes and that was all the space you had for all of your living requirements, or you retired and moved permanently into an RV with the plans to tour the country. What would you do?
Removed my response.  Apparently, neither the snarky answer or the serious answer is deemed appropriate.  So y'all have fun with this one.

Tom D.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Sheesh. It's just a question.

If the question is space related.. I'd get a PC and a copy of Trainz

If the question is 'house burning down' I'd grab my Somerset Coal train and my Grandfathers kitbashed Niagara walk out.. (everything else can be replaced...)

Wait a minute..  The official definition of a "train" is one or more locomotives with or without cars on a main track displaying a marker... So we get to take at least 2 more locomotives, track and an eot or caboose.

Actually, I've already downsized to a 144 square-foot home (hopefully not permanently), so I'm not about to criticize the question.

I find this type of "what if" questions silly and pointless.

Sheesh, somebody had an extra helping of grumpy for breakfast. If you think it's silly and pointless, why bother replying at all?

Why? Because I wanted to let everybody reading it know how I felt about this silly thread, and it made me feel good!  :P
If you read all the responses I'm not the only one with this opinion.

A PRR H9sa, 4 hoppers, 4 box cars, 2 reefers, a single dome tanker, a gondola, a flat car, and a caboose.  Hours of switching fun on a 1'x8' book shelf.  First N scale "RR" in a college dorm room 1973

My response to the topic was made partially in haste with little thought other than to react to the fact that I was stupid and used 3 minutes of my life thinking about it, 3 minutes I will never get back, and now the bait has been taken again ...... added another five minutes to the total ..... I going to have to have a good talk to myself in the mirror!!!

I am so relieved to hear that.

I have. No one else was as... direct. Why not just reply, "Go ______" (fill in the blank)

Well, that wouldn't be nice.  :)

I don't sugar coat my opinions - it is just my personality. I also have strong opinions when interacting with people face-to-face. And yes, I still have friends.  :)  Actually, what you are seeing is already a toned down version of what I'm really thinking.  Honest.  It might not be ideal, but it is what it is.

What I really need to do is not to revisit threads which seem like a waste of time to me.  I should know better, but like driving by a nasty accident, it is hard not to gaze at the scene.

Where's all the modeling at? ;)

To salvage this thread, maybe some of those who had an answer could post some pics of their "one train"....That would be better than just reading about them... :|

It would have to be a Conrail GP38-2 along with a string of boxcars.

Thanks,
