I wished I had known earlier.  I would have jumped in my car with camera in hand.  Only 45 minutes away.

Looks like 3 derailment areas in the train . I don't remember seeing that before . Then again I am 71 , or is that 70 ................

It looks like the derailment was a shove move and when the two hopper loads derailed [at bottom of video] then, just like on a model railroad, the next lightest weight cars came off next, which were the empty centerbeam flat cars.

Local news said a 3 loco lash-up and the second freight car derailed causing a chain reaction.  141 car train.

why the hell didn't the driver steer into the slide to bring the train under control??????

Because the railroads failed to properly train their crews. Just wait till it snows, they'll be trains in the ditch all over the place.
