Hey Guys, I have been lurking here for a while and see some amazing work. Has anyone here modeled the CSX  business cars?
If so what cars did you start with and what did you do for decals? I have the Rapido car Youngstown and its great but I wish they would do more.
Thanks a bunch,
Jeff

I have a goal of doing them all one day.   But that will be a long way off.
So far, I've done none.

Besides the Youngstown by Rapido....

There are only a couple more that can be done easily (except for decals  :?)

994501  Technical Research Car
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsPicture.aspx?id=173452

This is almost right out of the box the Walthers 10-6 sleeper.  It only needs some simple window mods.
For example, it has windows on one end:

While not technically part of the executive cars, you could also fairly quickly do
994361   Virginia.   This is an old baggage car from the RF&P that had been converted into a classroom car.
To my eye, this is the Wheels of Time express baggage car.  They come in lots of different variations.   The one I bought to strip is the ACL car.

994009 Massachusetts has been done by someone at Shapeways.

The same guy has made the newer Track Inspection car TCG-3   994366
https://www.shapeways.com/product/5NKU9ZS4G/n-scale-csx-track-inspection-car-tgc3?optionId=57392707

And that's all I'm aware of.
The rest would take significant work to build.

Laser Horizons offer seven different business car sides, most of which can use the MT heavyweight observation car... search "CSX" or scroll down...

@John 's been working on a bunch.

Well .. not a bunch .. the F40 is CSX 9993 .. I still need to put a new fuel tank on it, and move some of the underside stuff around ...

1st car is a CON-COR diner .. which, is a stand in .. but CC modeled the car backwards, so its a total foobie ..  the 2nd car is Con-Cor as well .. I filled in the appropriate windows and painted .. needs decals .. (which don't exist commercially) ..   I've attempted to model CSX MISSISSIPPI a couple of times, but always come up short ..

John those look great. I did what you did with a few Con Cor cars but no decals. Is that your layout? Looks good!
