I just scored one of these for 9 bucks;

I opted for this model, because since it came with blackened wheels (and black gears), I figured it must be a newer release, and therefore it might run half-way decently. It actually runs very nicely; smooth and quiet, with a nice range of speeds. Since it doesn't have couplers, I had it pushing some cars, and it appears capable of doing at least (7) 40' freight cars.

The real reason for this purchase it that I'm thinking of cutting away the sides, leaving the ends and roof intact, and putting some wooden sides on it to make sort of a box-cab type affair. I've also bought a 2nd body for just this reason.

Any thoughts/advice/whatever is, as always, much appreciated.
