News coming out this evening that Selkirk yard in New York is latest bulls-eye for HH.

Bad news for certain terminals = good news for others once left for dead.

Facts: Through coal and grain traffic is once again plying the rails of the former Clinchfield (albeit sporadically) and work is scheduled to begin early this summer on undercutting the tunnels, presumably to accommodate double stacks. Work is also underway to raise the max speed back up to 45 after having been downgraded to 25 over the entire territory due to lack of PTC.

Rumor: EHH held a yardstick between Chicago and the Port of Savannah up to a CSX system map and his next words were "why the f*** is the shortest and fastest route between these two terminals mothballed?"

Birmingham is added to the list.  It's funny, I keep reading the railfans say how terrible this is and blah blah blah, but this article actually gives some numbers and data to go along with the story.  Can't operate at a loss just because it's what they've done before.  And certainly not to keep the foamers happy...
