Have a large number of N scale producers abandoned Shapeways recently?  Searching around for stuff the other day, I could not find the North Shore cars, and the IHP stuff wasn't showing up, at least not in my searches, although some CTA cars were showing up under another name.  Or was I just having a hard night with Shapeways search?  I rather suspect the latter...

Spent some time surfing Shapeways for "N-scale" and saw everything you couldn't find... though it took going to page 60 to find them.  So very, very much that had nothing to do with N-scale coming up, including quite a number of non-train items that I had to sift through...

I'm rather curious about IHP using the Black Hi-def Acrylate for quite a number of their N-scale prints, which has been pretty much panned here on TRW.  A thread on a Southern Railway Facebook page talked about someone preparing to use such a print to model one of the Southern FM motor cars (something I might also be interested in) but so far every shot I have seen of this material leaves me unimpressed to say the least... the detail is course to say the least leaving me wondering if it is worth trying.

This may help - you can use Google to search Shapeways, like this:

site:www.shapeways.com pcc

will give you a listing of pcc entries, including this one from IHP:
http://www.shapeways.com/product/ZCCHWEM5S/n-scale-1-160-double-end-pcc-red-arrow-trolley-bod

I think part of the problem is that searching in Shapeways depends on the designer entering search tags, and doesn't necessarily use all the text in the description.

By the way, Google can't find Dover Harbor on Shapeways either.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Thanks George.

You will note that your search helps prove my point.  Rather than the IHP PCC Red Arrow car being in "trains" or "N scale"  Shapeways has it classified on the page you link as

"Marketplace> Miniatures> Figurines"  As is the double ended Red Arrow car

However, the double ended Illinois Terminal version PCC is under "Marketplace> Miniatures> Trains"

It just makes no sense to me.

Yes that's the one , thanks for the link  :).
I found the number on the bag they sent me the cars ( yes I am building 2 )  in and no numbers matched the new entry . They must have changed something .
It's not an easy task to build a car from FUD .
The floors were both too long and warped and I had to install 8 screws per car , screwed in a tapped bracket glued to the interior of the cars . I used screws the size of Micro Trains screws to attach couplers .
Now they look better .
Thanks ,
Louis
