The Railwire is not your personal army.
There has definitely been a change here since I officially joined in 2008. I miss a lot of what has been discarded.
Since I can't upvote this +1
There's a solution to that, ya know.... More modeling! I hear you, though... We've lost a lot of greats since 2008. But, OTOH, we have gained some fantastic modelers too. And we still have @tom mann! A browse through @mmagliaro's 0-6-0 scratchbuild might also help ease your concerns.
Nothing has been discarded .. every post that's been made is probably still in the database somewhere .. people move on, others move in. they all add or subtract from the collective .. many of the hard core modelers are still here, but just don't post as regularly. I've found a lot of the complainers never actually show anything. There are some who are takers, who never contribute positively. I appreciate everything anyone shows, but don't expect Oooohs and ahhhs for mediocrity .. my own modeling is barely above that level .. some folks get pissed when someone disagrees with them, or they disagree with others, and take their bat an ball and leave in a huff .. some eventually come back when they when they need something .. It is what it is .. nothing in life is constant .. the same goes for here ..
