How do you cut the hard gray foam that is found inside the Kato bookcases?  There is a blank in one of mine that I have to cut to fit a locomotive.  Theirs have such nice clean straight cuts.

I just use a single edge razor blade.

If you have, or can find, a two bladed electric carving knife, they work fine.

I have had success with a scalpel/exacto and a straight edge.

It would be nice to find a way to die-cut the foam like manufacturers do, but that is something that is out of reach for a hobbyist.  I hava lso used all sorts of sharp implements to to this but it never comes out looking like factory cut.

I have been thinking of trying to use hot wire tool mounted to a flat table (sort of like a scroll saw) to make the cuts.
