   there was an FGE "Woodie" at the Richmond VA. Ice Plant well
  into the 80s as a Storage unit.
   BREX became part of BNFE sometime in the 70s.
   thought that BNFE stayed in FGE into the early 80s at least.
   but the big mergers sure had an effect on FGE,RF&P was a
   member until CSX got them around 1990.
   and now CSX owns the remains of FGE.

I imagine a lot of the old reefers had second careers as storage sheds.  Even without ice they'd be a lot nicer than a boxcar for stuff that didn't like sudden temperature swings.
