You're right. I stand corrected. Ignore what I said previously. :)

As promised, here is a video of the unit in action. I didn't move it around much so that I could get the audio since that seemed to be the most important. It's just a cell phone video, but I think it reproduces the sound just fine.

Enjoy and let me know what you think, especially if you can identify the actual prime mover. It's an EMD 567 of course, just not sure how many cylinders.

Nice!

John C.

Edit: By the way, I'm pretty sure this is the same sound as the Tsunami V16 file, right down to the "whine" that was characteristic of the manual-transition 567.   I think it sounds great, though.  It's amazing what you can get out of the 8x12mm sugar cube speaker.

That's a slight bummer about the v16 but not such a big deal to me. It's make a diesel sound instead of steam. :) Sure it'd be even nicer if it did the 6 cylinder. I'm hoping Soundtraxx releases a new Tsunami that is smaller and has a v6 567. It could happen.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing this....
Too bad my road (ATSF) didn't own any SW1's. Gee, I wonder what it would take to convert one of these pups to an SC, like the one below, or an NW....
Like I *need* another project
Anyway, great job!

Very well done. I've picked up a couple of the SW-1's and I hadn't thought much about putting sound in them, but you've shown it's possible. Also a newby here to Railwire who has done a few installs ala JDColumbos fine work . I haven't done any lately since I'm holding out hope ESU will make their Select a little smaller. (I really dislike grinding the shells on hood units, always makes me a bit nervous.)

I do remember seeing something on the Loksound group about Matt working on a Select sound file for the SW-1.
